What Are Points?
Points are earned every time your son or daughter competes in a race. The goal is simple: race consistently and collect as many points as possible over the season. It’s not just about winning individual races, having consistant times and showing up to race can earn your racer a spot among the top contenders.
At the end of the season, the top 5 racers with the highest points totals in each division will be honored during our end-of-year trophy presentation. This means your child could be recognized for consistent effort even if they don’t take first place in a race.
How Are Points Awarded?
We keep the points straightforward and easy to follow. Here’s the breakdown:
- Heat Races: Just competing in a heat race earns 1 point. If your racer wins the heat, they get 2 points.
- Feature Races: Points are awarded based on the number of karts that started the race. For example, if 6 karts start, the winner receives 6 points, 2nd place gets 5 points, 3rd place gets 4 points, and so on down the line.
Important Notes
- If a racer moves into a different division or is disqualified, their points from that season will be forfeited.
- The system rewards dedication and consistency over the entire season. Encourage your racer to keep showing up and racing clean!
