Memorial Go-Kart (MGK) Racing Season

WHEN: MGK hosts TEAM go kart racing on select Wednesday Nights throughout the summer (generally June thru August) on the infield at Slinger Super Speedway! 

TIME: Pit Gates open at 5pm, Racing starts at 6:30pm with Opening Ceremonies, followed by Heat Races. Heat Races are shorter races with a smaller number of total karts. The finishing order of these Heat Races determine our Feature Race line-ups. The Feature Race is a longer race with more karts and takes place after the Heat Races are complete. So each racer generally gets 2 races.

KARTS: No, you cannot bring your own go kart. MGK go karts are specifically designed with a roll cage and race seat, powered by a 6.5hp MGK supplied engine. All karts are exactly the same performance wise and can be purchased from Memorial Go-Kart Inc or used from an existing team. 

AGE & HOW TO JOIN: MGK teams consist of youth age 7-18 who race in one of our 7 color coded divisions based on age and skill level.  Some of our karts are owned by a business and others are privately owned. Racers are generally placed on a team with an open spot by getting on our waiting list over winter.  Registration is in spring.

COST: It’s FREE to come watch from the grandstands during our regular season races and $15 for a pit pass to enter the pit area and/or race. There is no other cost to be in MGK other than REQUIRED VOLUNTEER HOURS at a fundraiser or Sunday race. 

FOOD: Carry-in food/drink is ok. Concessions are available in the pit area off turn 4 for everyone.
